Duran is the Aboriginal Counsellor for the Drug and Alcohol service at St Vincents Hospital Sydney. Duran is a proud Ngiyampaa man. Ngiyampaa tribe is one of three traditional owners of Lake Mungo which is where the oldest human remains on the Australian continent were discovered.
Duran has qualifications in Aboriginal Health, Counselling, Mental Health Drug and Alcohol Counselling. He has experience Counselling Aboriginal and Non Indigenous people in Drug and Alcohol services. He has experience working with Aboriginal specific and non-specific Youth services.
Duran’s dream is to continue to help Aboriginal people to break the cycle of addiction and provide support to help his people to overcome or better manage ongoing Mental Health issues.
