Why did you want to get involved with NCCRED? “The new National Centre provides a unique opportunity to enhance clinical responses to people with problems related to their use of stimulant and other emerging drugs. The integration of research and clinical services is important.”
Conjoint Professor Nicholas (Nick) Lintzeris is an Addiction Medicine specialist who has been involved for over two decades in clinical service delivery, research, professional education and policy activities in the field. He is internationally recognised as an expert in the treatment of opioid dependence, and has clinical and also has research interests in benzodiazepine, cannabis and psychostimulant use. He is the Director of Drug and Alcohol Services, South East Sydney Local Health District, and Conjoint Professor in the Division of Addiction Medicine, Faculty of Medicine and Health, University of Sydney. He is the current Chair of NSW DACRIN (Drug and Alcohol Clinical Research and Improvement Network), and President-Elect of the Chapter of Addiction Medicine, Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
