Why did you want to be involved with NCCRED? “NGOs are key to the implementation of the National Ice Action Strategy, accounting for over 50% of treatment episodes annually. I’m keen on building research capacity and fostering the development of clinical researchers in the NGO sector to encourage innovative frontline responses and grow the evidence base for community based responses.”
Robert Stirling is the Deputy CEO at the Network of Alcohol and other Drugs Agencies (NADA), representing the interests of the NSW NGO AOD sector. His responsibilities include: policy, representation, sector development, research collaboration and member support. He has worked in the AOD sector for over 10 years across the government and non government sectors. He sits on a number of committees representing the NGO AOD sector. He is an assessor of the Quality Improvement Council (QIC) Health and Community Services Standards, and a NSW Justice of the Peace. He holds qualifications in public health and community management. In his role on the board, he represents the interests of NGO AOD services nationally, on behalf of the state and territory AOD Peaks Network.
